Mossy Children's Botanical Craft
One of my favorite children's authors and illustrators is Jan Brett, known for her richly detailed and beautifully crafted children's storybooks. Her works often draw on themes of nature, folklore, and cultural traditions, bringing stories to life with intricate illustrations that captivate even the youngest of readers. Since our children were very young, we've been collecting her storybooks. After first reading Mossy, I had the idea of turning this sweet tale into a craft, most suited for children ages two to six.

A Curated List of Children's Garden-Themed Stories
During our garden and botany homeschool unit, which was held every morning outside at our big table in the middle of our garden, we read the book, How Does My Garden Grow by Gerda Muller. Within a few pages, it had inspired all three of my children to ask for their own garden plots and wanted to sow seeds right then. -
Our Homeschool Journey
We have settled into a rhythm and have decided to continue down this current path for the time being. While I look forward to the day all three children are jumping on the bus in the morning to be with their friends and to learn from the incredible teachers in our district, for right now, this is working well for our family.
