An Afternoon at Ulysses Rare Books

One of my favorite places in Dublin is Ulysses Rare Books—a cozy, long-running antiquarian bookshop in the heart of the city with a focus on rare editions of 20th-c. Irish literature. It was raining when I arrived and the kids lost interest in the store quickly, choosing to head back to the hotel to dry off, so I found a low stool and settled in to browse the shelves. I was giddy to find what turned out to be my most cherished keepsakes from our visit, a original copy of Flora's Feast: A Masque of Flowers, an antique children's storybook penned and pictured by Walter Crane, hardback published in 1899 with full color illustrations.

Ulysses is a true haven for book lovers.
